Are you passionate about crafting?

Happy Fabric is looking for a Crafter to join the team. The role is creative, exciting and will offer you new challenges every day.  This role will be focused on:

  • Creating & making beautiful projects by applying Heat Transfer Vinyl (HTV) to a wide variety of textiles.
  • Helping us increase awareness of the Happy Fabric brand.
  • Creating content for our social channels.
  • Helping to drive sales and increase awareness of HTV and its application within the crafting market.
  • Acting as a point of contact for customers.
  • Taking part in the Knitting and Stitching Show (Feb27-March 3rd) and the Handmade Fair (September 14-16).

What is Heat Transfer Vinyl?

Heat Transfer Vinyl, or HTV for short, is a specialty vinyl that can be used on certain fabrics/materials to create designs and promotional products. It comes in a roll or sheet form with an adhesive backing so it can be cut, weeded, and placed on a substrate for heat application. Heat Transfer Vinyl is made in single colours and also has special options such as patterned, glitter, flocked, holographic, glow in the dark, reflective and 3D puff.

Key Tasks

The Happy Press is Europe’s leading craft heat press. We are looking for someone who can show off the capabilities of our HTV materials and the HappyPress by designing and creating eye-catching creations. That can be replicated by our customers. HappyPress training will be provided.

A key part of this growing the Happy Fabric brand is through our website and our social channels. The ideal candidate for the role will need to be comfortable managing and creating content for the following channels:

  • (including Weekly Blog Posts)
  • YouTube
  • Instagram
  • Facebook
  • Emails & Newsletters
  • Events/ Tradeshows

Desired skills:

  • A passion for fashion or crafting and creating is essential.
  • Interest in current trends for fashion, craft & art.
  • A make and mend attitude.
  • Experience with HTV would be great.
  • Familiar with Adobe products or similar design programme.
  • An eye for colour and a feel for fabrics and materials.
  • Must be good at organising, planning and prioritising workload.
  • Experience in a customer facing role.
  • Marketing experience

This role is ideal for someone with a passion for crafting and commercial experience.

Role based in Braintree, Essex.
